Eleven Flat

When I went to work last Wednesday, I took the R1 in. I've noticed that I prefer commuting on the R1 compared to the 400 - which has been left out a little in recent times. It was a last minute decision, but off I went at 4:30pm to Kwinana to the Perth Motorplex for another dose of Whoop Ass Wednesday. I hadn't been for ages and I was looking forward to seeing what the R1 was capable of.

Proof that the R1 made it to the drags

Happier times - *Ridgey Didge*
(now how many of you are old enough to remember that?!?!?)
Once I had been through scrutineering I started to get a little nervous. I'd never taken the R1 to such speeds as I thought I'd be doing at the drags (fyi: 206km/hr). I ended up doing 5 passes on what was a pretty average night. Lots of issues with cars blowing shit up and way too much rice!

First pass was a decent 11.4, then I ran an 11.1 (beating the PB of a fellow biker with the same bike). The times waivered around mid 11's till my last pass of the night which was a surprising 11.006 seconds! I was stoked!

I'm looking forward to making the R1 run 10.5's - I think the bike can do it. I also have the benefit of drag experience (and a weight advantage).
